Uganda is a land of diverse attractions renowned as the source of the River Nile. The greatest number of travelers to this East Africa country are drawn by the Mountain Gorillas for Uganda is home to one of the last outposts of these giant primates. Apart from gorillas other wildlife species that are found here include chimps, elephants, lions and cheetahs, leopards and jackals, hippos and crocodiles and a wide variety of African antelopes.
Also drawing numerous travelers are the Rwenzori Mountains which are known as "Mountains of the Moon" a mountain of bogs, endless mists and snow covered peaks. Other attractions include rafting on the River Nile, Island hopping on Lake Victoria, Wildlife Adventures in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo Game Park and the Semliki Wildlife Sanctuary. The shores of Lake Victoria and some of the other wetlands offers excellent birding opportunities for the client who wishes to diversify from the normal Game Viewing Safari or Mountain Hiking itinerary.
