Kenya Mountain Climbing

5 Days Sirimon Route

Day 1 Nairobi- Nanyuki
Departure from Nairobi is at 09.00 hrs. to Nanyuki for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Nanyuki - Old Moses Camp
After breakfast vehicle transfer to Sirimon route hike to Old Moses camp (3300m) for overnight (4 to 6 hrs. hike)

Day 3 Old Moses - Shipton's Camp
Hike to Shipton’s camp (4200m ) for overnight (5 to 7 hrs. hike)

Day 4 Shipton's Camp - Point Lenana
Attempt, to Point Lenana (4895 m) at 03.00 hrs. and descend leisurely to met section. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 met section – Nairobi
Descend the mountain to Naro Moru town with transfer back to Nairobi.


6 Days Sirimon Route

Day 1 Nairobi- Nanyuki
Departure from Nairobi is at 9.00 am to Nanyuki for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Nanyuki - Old Moses Camp
After breakfast vehicle transfer to Sirinom route hike to Old Moses camp for overnight (3300 m ) 4 to 6 hrs. hike.

Day 3 Old Moses - Shipton's Camp
Hike to Shipton’s camp (4200 m) for overnight (5 to 7 hrs. hike)

Day 4 Shipton's Camp - Point Lenana
Attempt to Point Lenana lunch enroute (4985 m ) and descend to mintos hut for overnight.

Day 5 Minto's Hut - Chogoria Gate
Hike leisurely to Chogoria park gate (3020 m) for overnight.

Day6 Park Gate – Nairobi
Descend leisurely to Chogoria town for transfer back to Nairobi.

4 Days Nanyuki - Sirimon Route

Day 1 Nairobi- Nanyuki
Departure from Nairobi is at 9.30 am to Nanyuki for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Nanyuki - Old Moses Camp
After breakfast vehicle transfer to Sirimon park gate, hike to Old Moses camp (3300m) for overnight 4 to 6 hrs. hike.

Day 3 Old Moses - Shipton's Camp
Hike to Shipton’s camp (4200m ) for overnight (5 to 7 hrs. hike).

Day 4 Shipton's Camp - Point Lenana
Attempt, Lenana (4985 m) at 03.00 hrs. and descent directly to main road with transfer back to Nairobi hiking time approximately 11 hours.


Mount Elgon Climb -

Day 1 Nairobi - Kitale
Leave Nairobi to Kitale then proceed to delta crescent camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Crescent Camp - Mt Elgon
Proceed to the park gate and then visit the caves i.e Kitum, Makingeny among others as you a game walk accompanied by ranger, dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 3 Campsite - Koitobos Peak
In the morning attempt to the top of Mt Elgon (Koitobos Peak) 4155 m high descend back to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Delta Crescent Camp
Leave campsite very early in the morning for a whole day walking to delta crescent for dinner and overnight. If time permit take a bus straight to Kitale town.

Day 5 Kitale - Nairobi
After breakfast leave for Nairobi lunch enroute. Arrive Nairobi in the evening.
